*This is a compulsory fee for all students entering Australia on a student visa. Single – covering only the overseas student.
Dual family – covering the overseas student, and either one adult spouse or recognised de facto partner or one or more children or step-children under the age of 18 years who are not married.
Multi family – covering the overseas student and more than one dependant, which can only include one adult spouse or recognised de facto partner and one or more dependant children.

‡ Homestay fees are paid directly to the host. Students are required to pay the equivalent of four weeks homestay fee on arrival. This includes two weeks as security bond and two weeks homestay fees in advance. Payments are then required every two weeks. The bond is refundable at the end of the homestay arrangement provided there is no money owing for unpaid rent, bills or damage and appropriate notice is given (two weeks).
§ Students who are under 18years on a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) issued by Hawthorn-Melbourne will be required to use the Hawthorn-Melbourne airport reception service.
^The Underage Student Host Registration fee will apply if a parent of a student under 18 years, travelling on a student visa, requests that their son/daughter live with a family friend/relative who wishes to become a homestay host for the purpose of hosting the son or daughter.
Some excursions and activities may involve additional entrance or participation fees.
