1 This is a compulsory fee for all students entering Australia on a student visa. Overseas Student Health Cover provided by Allianz Care is the preferred Overseas Student Health Cover Provider of Hawthorn-Melbourne. Fees quoted are approximates. Check the full OSHC Fee schedule here. Details of all OSHC providers can be found at: Private Health OSHC

  • Single: Covering only the overseas student who is the primary Student Visa holder / applicant;
  • Dual family: Covering the overseas student and their partner, or the overseas student and their dependant children ; or
  • Multi family: Covering the overseas student, a partner, and their dependant children

2 Fees include 10% GST (Goods and Services Tax).

3 Homestay fees are paid directly to the homestay provider. Students are required to pay the equivalent of four weeks homestay fee on arrival. This includes two weeks as security bond and two weeks homestay fees in advance. Payments are then required every two to four weeks. The bond is refundable at the end of the homestay arrangement provided there is no money owing for unpaid rent, bills or damage and appropriate notice is given (two weeks).

4 Student visa applicants who are under 18years on a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) issued by Hawthorn-Melbourne will be required to arrange their homestay and airport transfer through Australian Homestay Network (AHN). Fees are payable directly to AHN. Further information is available at hawthornenglish.edu.au/apply/underage-students.

5 The Parent Nominated Homestay registration fee will apply if a parent of a student under 18 years, travelling on a student visa, requests that their son/daughter live with a family friend/relative who wishes to become a homestay host for the purpose of hosting the son or daughter. Parent nominated hosts must register with the Australian Homestay Network (AHN); fees are paid to AHN. Fees are for AHN host vetting and placement management services. No host reimbursement included. Some excursions and activities may involve additional entrance or participation fees.
